IPL 2019, Match 32: Kings XI Punjab vs Rajasthan Royals-Twitter Reacts as KXIP Post 182

In the 32nd match of Vivo IPL 12, it was Rajasthan Royals skipper Ajinkya Rahane who won the toss and put the hosts in. KL Rahul and Chris Gayle came out in the middle to begin proceedings. Both batsmen took their time to get going. KL Rahul, in particular, took an eternity to get going. Chris Gayle, on the other hand, took a few deliveries to get going but in no time he raced off to 3.

The southpaw smashed 3 big sixes and a couple of fours en route to his knock of 30 of 22 deliveries before Jofra Archer removed him with a peach of a delivery. It was a slower delivery and the ball moved perfectly to take the outside edge of Gayle’s bat. Mayank Agarwal came out in the middle and started smashing the long ball to perfection from the outset.

He smashed Ish Sodhi and Shreyas Gopal for a couple of sixes and raced of to 26 of 12 deliveries. He was dismissed by Ish Sodhi as he attempted another big shot and was holed out in the deep. KL Rahul slowly but steadily went to his fifty mark and finally struck some big blows to get going. However just as he was set to bat till the end, he was dismissed by Jofra Archer.

David Miller, on the other hand, survived a close shave as he was castled by Jofra Archer of a no ball. He cashed on the opportunity and smashed some lusty blows to get Kings XI Punjab to a competitive total in the end. Jofra Archer bowled quite brilliantly for the Rajasthan Royals and he has again strengthened his case for a World Cup call-up.

In the last over it was Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin who struck back to back sixes to get his team’s score to 182 in their allotted 20 overs. Jofra Archer finished with exceptional figures of 3/15 in his 4 overs spell.
