IPL 2019: Riyan Parag Becomes The Youngest Cricketer To Score A IPL Fifty

Riyan Parag, the youngster from Rajasthan Royals topped the charts of the youngest batsman to score an IPL fifty. He achieved the feat in the afternoon match against Delhi Capitals at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Riyan outsmarted the record of his teammate Sanju Samson.
The youngster, who is the first cricketer to play the IPL from Assam has achieved a brilliant record to his name, which would stay on the list for quite a time. Though the knock was a bit slow, it was the knock which gave something on the board for Rajasthan Royals.
Riyan Parag scored 50 off 49 balls:
Riyan Parag is just 17 years 175 days old when he scored a fifty to his name. He became the youngest and broke the six-year record/ Previously, it was Sanju Samson, who knocked the fifty when he was 18 years 169 days aged, which was way back in 2013 edition of the tournament.
The next to follow in the list is Prithvi Shaw, who smashed it in the previous edition of the tournament. Prithvi Shaw was 18 years 169 days old when he smoked that fifty for Delhi. He is followed by Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill in the chart.
Pant scored when he was 18 years 212 days old while Gill scored when he was 18 years 237 days old. Their knocks came in 2016 and 2018 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Coming back to the knock of Riyan Parag, it will be remembered for a long time by the youngster. Despite the team is falling apart at the other end, Parag never let himself down at the other end. He played as per the requirement and delivered the much-needed knock. If not his fifty, the scorecard would have looked embarrassing for Rajasthan Royals.
