It took a three and a half hours delay before Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals players could come to the ground for the action. However, the rain was back again after one hour to play the killjoy and call off the game. It was decided that both these will run a 5 overs dash with two overs of powerplay. Meanwhile, at the toss time, Rajasthan Royals skipper Steven Smith won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Subsequently, Virat Kohli scored two sixes off the first two balls to hit the ground running for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Kohli and AB de Villiers gave a fine start as they got 23 runs from Varun Aaron’s first over. Thus, after all the rain and thunderstorm, it was time for Kohli and AB de Villiers exploits.

Five overs dash.

Kohli got another six and four of the first two balls of the second over which Shreyas Gopal bowled. However, the leg-spinner continued his penchant of hunting down the big batsman as he flummoxed Kohli with a goggly. Gopal once again accounted for AB de Villiers before he also got rid of Marcus Stoinis to complete his second IPL 2019 hat-trick.

However, the Rajasthan Royals kept losing wickets as no batsman could get going. Oshane Thomas scalped two wickets in the last over whereas Riyan Parag and Jaydev Unadkat took one wicket each.
