Prior to their last match, skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have promised their fans to make amendments for the dismal season this year. They assured the fans of a turn around next year looking to end their disappointing season on a winning note. The 12th edition of IPL proved to be another gloomy one for Royal Challengers Bangalore as they failed to make it to the playoffs. RCB became the first team of the season to fall out of the playoffs.
With just four wins out of the thirteen matches, RCB had the worst possible start in the league this year. They consecutively lost six games in the first phase before making sparking come back in the second phase of the tournament. They opened their account with a stunning 8-wicket win against Kings XI Punjab before losing to Mumbai Indians in their next game.
After that, Kohli brought hope to their fans as they won three games against Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and KXIP. With renewed energy, RCB went up against Delhi Capitals but ended up losing by 16 runs. In fact, they lost all their hopes after their last match against Rajasthan Royals which was called off as a tie. The tie meant that Kohli’s team was out of the reckoning for a spot in the playoffs.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers apologise to their fans while promising to make a comeback in the next IPL edition.
However, Kohli and de Villiers apologised to their fans for yet another abysmal season of IPL. The franchise shared a video where they promised to come back harder in the next season. Here is the whole conversation between two stalwarts.
AB – RCB fans, thank you so much for the support throughout the season, you guys are incredible. Virat will agree to the fact that the last game with the rain, it was only a 5-over game but one of the most memorable games in my life and it wasn’t even the result. Thanks to you guys.
Virat – One game left for the season, it’s been disappointing for us and for all of you but as we do every year, we are going to come out and do everything next season to turn it around.
AB – Sorry about the up and down performances, we are hoping to finish on a high. Please keep supporting us, it keeps us going. Hoping something special is coming in the last game and next season.
Virat – This has to be a special message for you all because even after three hours of a game being washed out, you still sit in the stadium and give us the loudest cheer when we walk out to bat. It’s special and It’s always going to be special in our hearts and minds. Thank you for being the best fans that you are.

Although Bangalore is out of the race to playoffs, they can still make it difficult for Sunrisers to make it to the knockout stages.
