Sunrisers Hyderabad registered a sensational 118 runs victory against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on the back of sensational centuries from the blade of Jonny Bairstow and David Warner which helped Hyderabad post a daunting score of 231 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. It was strokeplay at his best by both the batters as they shared a stand of 185 runs for the opening wicket in just 16.2 overs.
It was Jonny Bairstow who outscored David Warner during his exceptional knock of 114 of just 56 deliveries which were studded with 12 fours and 7 sixes. It was power hitting at his very best. Following his dismissal, it was David Warner who took on the charge and completed a well deserved century. Eventually, their partnership proved to be the match-changing moment.

A target of 232 was always going to a huge task for Royal Challengers Bangalore. They would have hoped Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to score big for them. However, it wasn’t to be as Bangalore kept losing wickets on a consistent basis. AB de Villiers and Kohli were dismissed cheaply and from there on it was a destination too far for Bangalore.

Colin de Grandhomme and debutant Prayas Ray Burman stitched together a good stand but by then Hyderabad had already sealed the match. Eventually, Bangalore could only muster 113 and was bowled out in the penultimate delivery of the match.
