IPL 2019: Watch Ravichandran Ashwin Mankads Jos Buttler
A bizarre scene took place in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2019. The skipper of Kings XI Punjab performed Mankading to dismiss Jos Buttler at the crucial stage of the game. As per the latest rules, the third umpire declared out, as Ravi Ashwin has no intentions of taking his appeal back.
It was in the 13th over of the game when Ashwin was bowling to Sanju Samson. During the course, Ravi Ashwin stopped himself in the run-up and affected a run-out on the non-striker end to put Jos Buttler in a question.
Jos Buttler scored 69 runs off 43 balls:
The on-field umpire asked the third umpire to declare his decision, who displayed ”Out” on the big screen. Meanwhile, it left all the fans at the stadium in a dilemma, as they weren’t aware of the new rule.
Coming to the match, In reply to Chris Gayle and Sarfaraz Khan’s heroics, Rahane and Buttler started things in a flash mode. The duo has been sensational at the crease, who smashed Punjab bowlers to all corners of the park.
Though Rahane walked back, Jos Buttler continued his marathon form to garner runs for Rajasthan Royals on a consistent basis. However, the Mankad from R Ashwin completely changed the complexion of the game.
Earlier, in the match, it was Rajasthan Royals, who won the toss and elected to bowl first. Justifying the toss decision, Dhawal Kulkarni delivered right in the first over of the game to send KL Rahul back to the hut. However, Chris Gayle played pretty much unlike him to settle the ship for Punjab.
However, then came the steady partnership between Sarfaraz Khan and Chris Gayle, which changed the complexion of the game. Despite the initial blitz, the lack of firepower in the slog overs restricted Kings XI Punjab to 184 in the 20 overs.
