Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced that the Indian Premier League 2020 has been postponed indefinitely because of the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, IPL was set to start from 29th March, but it was postponed till 15th April.

The outbreak of coronavirus has halted all the sporting events around the world. The Indian Government has also extended the lockdown till May 3 while the cases of the deadly virus in India are increasing. The travel ban has also been imposed to stop the spread of the virus. It has taken the lives of more than 1,35,662 people.

So, in such circumstances and for the safety of players, BCCI can’t host the 13th edition of the most popular league this month. A few days back BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has given the statement, “when life has come to a standstill everywhere in the world, where does sport have a future in this.”

Well, some fans appreciated the decision and are happy that IPL has not been cancelled while others are cracking a joke and make a meme on it. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), who has not won an IPL trophy, is also being trolled by the netizens.
