Gujarat Titans’ Joshua Little feels that the standard of cricket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is close to that of International cricket. The cash-rich league is known for high-intensity games and nail-biting finishes among the cricket leagues in the world.

The Ireland pacer, who is currently part of Gujarat Titans for the first time in the cash-rich league believes that the biggest difference between other leagues in the world and IPL is the quality of cricket played in the cash-rich league. He said that crowds are bigger in India and the amount of close games in the IPL is way higher than in any other leagues across the globe.

“The biggest difference is the standard of cricket. It’s probably the highest and close to international cricket, if not better. Obviously, the crowds are bigger and just things like the amount of travel and amount of games close by are something that you don’t find in many competitions. This (IPL) goes on for two months. Everything else is usually a month,” Joshua Little said.

Joshua Little has been an emerging left-arm pacer from Ireland who made his debut in IPL 2023 for the defending champions Gujarat Titans against Chennai Super Kings in the opening game of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The 23-year-old could not make an impact in the league so far and has snared only 3 wickets from four games for Gujarat Titans with an economy rate of over nine runs an over.

Hopefully, I Can Show That Form Later On In The Competition- Joshua Little

In 2022, Joshua Little has made his name known in international cricket as a lethal and talented bowler, especially in the powerplay overs. Last year, he played in 26 T20Is and recorded 39 wickets at an efficiency of 7.58.

Little picked 11  wickets in seven matches at an economy of 7 in the T20 World Cup and the youngster picked a remarkable hat-trick against New Zealand.

“Last year was my breakthrough season. Things went well for me. Being picked up in the IPL was obviously a dream come true. Hopefully, I can show that form later on in the competition,” said Joshua Little.

With the success in world cricket, defending champions Gujarat Titans spent whopping ₹4.4 crores to sign Josh Little. Speaking about his experience of watching the IPL auction 2023,

“No. I don’t think anyone could ever really expect the big price. I was just watching from home on a youtube stream and then my name came up and it kept on going up. So I was very delighted and it was a day I will never forget,” he added.

The 23-year-old would like to contribute more to the success of Gujarat Titans in the forthcoming games. The defending champions will take on Lucknow Super Giants on their 6th league game on  April 22 in Ekana Stadium, Lucknow.
