Gujarat Titans (GT) will host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 45th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The GT vs RCB clash will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on April 28, 2024.

The hosts failed to chase 225 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC) in their previous high-scoring game. They made a decent start in the season with couple of wins in the first three games, before facing two back-to-back defeats against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

With impressive batting performances from their lower order- especially Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia, Titans handed Rajasthan Royals (RR) their only defeat of the competition so far. However, their last defeat against the Capitals pushed them back to the seventh position with four wins in nine games at a net run rate (NRR) of -0.974.

Except for their captain Shubman Gill (304 runs) and Sai Sudharsan (334 runs), none of their batters has crossed the 175-run mark in this IPL 2024. Even in the bowling department, Mohit Sharma stands in the 11th rank as their highest wicket-taker. His 10 wickets came at an economy of 10.35, especially after recording the worst bowling figure of IPL history with 0/73 in 4 overs against DC.

RCB, after their six successive defeats, finally got back to winning ways. The victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) was their first victory in this IPL 2024, since getting the better of Punjab Kings (PBKS), exactly a month ago in this tournament. They still keep on spending time at the bottom of the points table.

Except for the current leading run-scorer of IPL 2024, Virat Kohli, none of their batters have fired in this event so far. Their middle order continues to struggle. However, Rajat Patidar’s 20-ball 50 in the previous meeting would give them some relief going into the GT vs RCB clash. In the bowling department, there is so much concern. Their best bowler, Yash Dayal has collected just eight wickets at an economy of 9.43.

More than them, a win for the hosts in the GT vs RCB will promote them to the traffic jam in the middle half of the points table.
