England all-rounder Ben Stokes is back home in New Zealand to see his ailing father who is battling Brain cancer. Stokes left the England test series against Pakistan midway, as he headed back home after facing sleepless nights in the camp.
The three lions star was also not picked for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia. Ben Stokes’ IPL campaign this term is also not sure until now. If he decides to play, Stokes will be seen in the Rajasthan Royals colours for the third year this season. The star all-rounder has played 34 IPL matches so far and scored 635 runs at an average of 22.67. He also has 26 wickets to his name in the IPL.

The England star had revealed that he had stress mounting up thinking about his father’s ailment and he didn’t get sleep for a week during the England vs Pakistan test series. Therefore, he left the camp as it was the right choice being not in the right state of mind. Playing absent-minded would have affected his game and hence he decided to pull out of the competition and head home.
“I didn’t sleep for a week and my head wasn’t really in it. Leaving was the right choice from a mental point of view,” Stokes was quoted as saying to the Weekend Herald.
Ben Stokes carried his team to the win in World Cup 2019. He also helped them win the Ashes, a couple of months later by hitting a century. He has been of utmost importance to the England team. The Rajasthan Royals have still not heard any confirmation from Ben Stokes regarding his participation with 18 days left for the IPL to begin.

Rajasthan Royals have eyes on their 2nd IPL victory
Rajasthan Royals had traded captain Ajinkya Rahane to Delhi capitals for this term and appointed Steve Smith as the leader. RR squad members including Steve Smith, Jofra Archer, Jos Buttler and Tom Curran will travel to UAE on 17th September to join the squad. They are in England to play a bilateral series between Australia and England which will conclude on 16th September. The partial squad who are in UAE have finished their quarantine and began their training.
The IPL 2020 will begin from September 19 till November 10, a total 53-day campaign will see all the 8 teams play in UAE. The venue this time is UAE and matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
