Biju George, the coach of Sanju Samson, believes that IPL 2020 will be a golden opportunity for the Kerala player to cement his place in the T20 World Cup squad. The T20 league is scheduled in September-November in UAE and will be arranged behind closed doors.
Sanju Samson started his IPL journey with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2012 but currently, he plays for Rajasthan Royals. He has been constantly performing for the IPL team. So far, the wicketkeeper-batsman has played in 93 IPL matches and scored 2209 runs, including two centuries. However, he has failed to replicate the same performance in international cricket because of which, he has failed to get the spot on the national team.
IPL 2020 golden Chance for Sanju Samson: Biju George

Biju George is sure that Samson would have a great IPL season because he has been preparing himself during the extended break. He said that the wicketkeeper-batsman performance in the league would open the doors for him in the T20 World Cup 2021
“Yes absolutely, I think it is a golden chance for him to make his place in the T20 World Cup 2021 squad. If you look at his white-ball career, he has been consistent at it and I am sure he will perform, he has been consistent ever since he made his debut in IPL,” George told ANI while talking about Samson’s chances to make it to the T20 World Cup squad.

“I do not think Samson will have any pressure on him when he goes in to play the IPL. This year, he has put in the maximum preparation, I have never seen him more focused, he was even working out when we were in lockdown in Trivandrum,” he added.
Earlier this month, ICC postponed the T20 World Cup 2020 which was scheduled in October-November in Australia. The mega event’s postponement had paved the way for BCCI to host the 13th edition of the league this year. Sanju Samson will be seen in action wearing Rajasthan Royal’s jersey.
