Suryakumar Yadav, who was the second-highest scorer for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2019, said that his side ticked all the boxes for beating Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday in their second match of the IPL 2020.
Suryakumar Yadav bat at the responsible position of number three for Mumbai Indians. Against KKR, he stitched up a game-changer partnership of 90 runs with Rohit Sharma.
However, he was unlucky as he got run out while trying to score double. He amassed 47 off 28 balls, striking six fours and one maximum. The highlight of his innings was hitting consecutive fours in four-ball off Sandeep Warrier bowling.

After the match, Suryakumar Yadav was delighted with the team’s effort. While they lost their last match against CSK, the Mumbaikar felt that against KKR, they didn’t make many mistakes.
“Talking about batting, it was a brilliant wicket, during the last game we had a chat as a group of getting 180 odd runs. In the match against KKR, we ticket that box completely. We just kept our basics right,” Suryakumar Yadav told Rahul Chahar in a video posted on the official website of IPL.

Yadav said that keeping the energy up until the last ball was the key to lead them to victory. He added that it was an amazing feeling to defend the target successfully.
“The energy on the field when we went to defend the score was amazing, that’s what we discussed in the team meeting that we will stay positive and clear in our minds. Till the last bowl was bowled, the energy was spot on,” he added.
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma also played an outstanding knock of 80 runs off 54 balls to help his team set up 196 runs target, The total was well defended by the franchise as Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult, James Pattinson and Rahul Chahar picked two wickets each.
