Aakash Chopra, former Indian cricketer, feels that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli was not hesitant while playing a supporting role to the youngster Devdutt Padikkal during their match-winning partnership against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday (October 3).

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal set up 99 runs partnership to chase down 155 runs target against RR to register their third win of the tournament. RCB captain, who had struggled in the first three matches, finally, got back into the groove as he scored his first fifty of the IPL 2020.

While speaking on his YouTube Channel, Aakash Chopra warned other teams to now be cautious of Virat Kohli because he has regained his form.

“Virat Kohli is back in form. Once he is in form, everything will go well. All the teams need to be careful because the Virat Kohli storm is now going to hit the tournament.”

Talking about Virat Kohli’s 72* runs knock against RR, Aakash Chopra observed that Kohli had got more time to settle in the field because RCB’s bowler had restricted them to a reasonable score.

“In this game, he had time at his disposal which he needed. He got so much time because the RCB bowlers bowled well. But Kohli batted carefully in the beginning, which he could do because RCB was not chasing a huge total.”

The renowned commentator also said that Virat Kohli did not display any ego while playing second fiddle to Devdutt Padikkal as he took time to set himself in the field.

“Virat Kohli did not have any ego when Devdutt Padikkal was playing the big shots at the other end. He allowed Padikkal to go after the bowling while watching him from close quarters.”

Aakash Chopra further heaped praise on Virat Kohli’s understanding of the game. He said that the RCB captain knows how to handle situations while also not giving his wicket easily.

Virat Kohli understands what he needs to do and what his team requires the most. Virat Kohli’s quality is that when he scores he remains unbeaten as well.”

Meanwhile, RCB is at the no.2 position in the points table with six points after winning three matches out of four. They will play their next match against Delhi Capitals on Monday.
