Ireland through to World Cup T-20 2016

By topping the group Ireland has qualified for the World Cup T-20 2016 to be held in India. Ireland has done very well in the ICC World Cup T-20 qualifier. In this tournament they came as favorites to win this tournament and have lived up to the reputation with some good performances.

In today’s match against Jersey, the Ireland bowlers restricted the Jersey batsman to a modest total of 122 with Paul Striling and John Mooney the pick of the bowlers. John Mooney picked a hattrick in the match. The batsman showed great attacking play and won the match by 7 wickets with 20 balls to spare. Ireland has been leading associate nations for a while and it is great that Ireland has qualified for the biggest stage of all. 

In ICC World T-20 qualifier Ireland played 6 matches, winning 4 and losing 2. The losses came against Hong Kong and another came against PNG. Ireland will be looking to showcase its talent in tournament to be held in 2016. Ireland has participated in the 50 over World Cups and has beaten top teams like Pakistan and England. They have top quality batsmen which can change the course of the match on its own.

Ireland has been a consistent team and has done well in ICC World Cup T-20 qualifier 2015. They have joined Scotland in the tournament as the latter finished first in their group.   

Their batting had clicked in the match against Jersey with Striling scoring 55 to make the job of Ireland easier.
