Ishant Sharma has not been in a good form for quite sometime now. He has been in his bad patch since 2013. He was also dropped from the first eleven of his IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad team in this year. But he was included in the test squad against England.
India recently played a warm-up match against England recently but it was for yet another time, the bowlers came up with a disappointing performance with Ishant Sharma, in particular showed up poorly. The tall and lanky fast bowler was attacked with aggressive comments by Indian fans on the third and final day of the warm-up game against Leicestershire as he went for plenty in his spell.
Ishant gave away as many as 64 runs in his 9 overs which he bowled. Among that, in his first spell, he bowled 4 overs and went for 41 runs and also he struggled with his line and length and bowled an inexplicable 6 no balls in that spell. He did manage to pick 2 wickets but on a whole, his disappointing performance still continues.
According to a report, Ishant was hit by verbal volleys from Indian fans at the ground while Ishant went to field at the long leg position. Clearly the fans erupted out loud due to their disappointment on him.
It was even heard that one fan shouted loud, “Put some effort. Bend down.”
Also, when he was lining up to deliver his next over, fans from the crowd shouted at him by saying, “How many fours are you going to give this over?”
Indeed, Ishant did put up a disappointing performance. He is now the second most experienced player for India after Dhoni and he is expected to show some responsibility in his bowling. If he stays out of form, it will be another troublesome series for India in England.
