Man Of The Match Ishant Sharma Reveals His Strategy Against Bangladesh
The historic Test match in the Indian cricket ended with India winning their first pink-ball game at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). The credit of winning should be given to the Indian bowlers. The tall guy, Ishant Sharma, picked nine wickets of Bangladesh in the first day-night Test match. The pacer was awarded the man of the match and man of the series trophies.
Ishant Sharma picked his 10th five-wicket haul in this pink ball game. Bangladesh players had no answer to his bowling. He bowled in perfect line and length, changed his action according to the conditions, and got the assistant from the fielders.
On the first day, he opened the account with getting the wicket of Imrul Kayes with a leg cutter. After which he continued taking the wicket of Mahmudullah, Ebadat Hossain, Mehidy Hasan and Nayeem Hasan. With those wickets, he registered the second five-wicket haul in the home Test match.
In Bangladesh 2nd innings, he first picked the wicket of Shadman Islam and in his next over he sent the Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque back to the dressing room. Imrul Kayes and Mehidy Hasan were his next preys.
I’m just hitting the right areas and sticking to my plans – Ishant Sharma
The trio Indian pacers were seen sharing a good bond in the field. Mohammed Shami‘s furious bowling got hurt a couple of batsmen. Ishant said that he made strategies with Shami which has helped him pick up the wickets. He opined that they both always cheer the success of each other.
“Shami told me to give him whatever I’m carrying in my pocket (laughs). We enjoy each others’ success as fast bowlers,” Ishant said.
“I’m just hitting the right areas and sticking to my plans. We developed that in the last game (the leg-cutting ball going away from the right-hander from round the wicket) and we had chats with the bowling coach and batting coach who thought it was a fluke, but I bowled that ball deliberately and I did the same this game.”
