India’s head coach Ravi Shastri believes it’s a win-win situation for Indian cricket after Sourav Ganguly was elected unopposed as BCCI President. Shastri stated that Ganguly has all the experience as a player and as well as an administrator to take Indian cricket forward.

Ravi Shastri also gave his best wishes to Sourav Ganguly. Shastri believes there is a lot of work to be done and Ganguly is the right man for the job. The last couple of years have been a difficult time for the Indian board and Ganguly needs to come up with the right solution.

Ganguly can take Indian cricket in the right direction.

Shastri added Ganguly’s appointment is the harbinger that Indian cricket is moving on the right path.

Ravi Shastri said while talking to Cricbuzz in an exclusive interview, “My heartiest congratulations to Sourav for taking over as the BCCI president. His appointment is an indication that Indian cricket is moving in the right direction. He’s always been a natural leader. When someone like him – who already dipped his feet into cricket administration four or five years ago – takes over as president of the BCCI, it’s a win-win for Indian cricket. These are difficult times for the Board and there’s a lot of work to do to bring BCCI back on the path of glory. I wish him all the best in his stint”.

On the other hand, Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri don’t share the best of relationships. When Ganguly was elected as BCCI president and he was asked to comment on Shastri, he had said what did he (Shastri) do wrong now.

Meanwhile, one can expect that things will run smoothly in the BCCI under the tutelage of Sourav Ganguly. The former skipper knows what needs to be done to lift Indian cricket and he is the right man to take things forward.

On the other side, India had steamrolled South Africa by 3-0 in the Test series. India will next play Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series. The first match will take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on 3rd November.
