Former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly, has heaped praises on the Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya as Ganguly has said that he has seen confidence in Pandya, post his success with bat and ball,
“He’s (Pandya) getting better and that’s the best part of it. You can see the confidence, because of the performance with the bat, in his bowling. If you do well in one aspect of the game you automatically get better in the other aspect,” Ganguly told India Today.

Pandya, in the first ODI against Australia in Chennai, along with MS Dhoni, rescued the team from a tough situation and played a pivotal role in helping the home side to put up a total of 281 on the board.
After the failure of the top order, Indian team found itself in a desperate situation. Though Rohit Sharma and Kedar Jadhav did their job, the real task was carried out by the pair of Dhoni and Pandya, who shared 128 runs for the sixth wicket, which helped India to win the game.
Further, Ganguly asked Pandya to look up to Jacques Kallis as a role model, who is one of the best all-rounders in world cricket. Though Ganguly also cleared that he is not comparing Pandya to Kallis,
“He’s got to think big because the job of an all-rounder is not easy. He’s fit, he works hard and for him, the role model should be Jacques Kallis. I’m not comparing him with Kallis but he should start looking at putting in performances over a period of 10 years in all formats because he’s got the ability.” he added.
Since his debut in ODI cricket, Pandya has emerged out as one of the best players as he does all the job for the team. From opening the bowling to recuperating team’s innings to transforming himself into an explosive player when needed, Pandya has done everything. In past few months, he has done all his job with more responsibility, and after his Test debut, he seems to be a different player.

Surely, if he can continue to serve the team in the same way for next 10-12 years, then he would emerge out a second-best fast bowling all-rounder team India ever had after Kapil Dev.
From past many years, team India is looking for that one man who could fulfill team India’s quest of having a fast bowling all-rounder and Pandya, has shown signs of being that player and have also earned praise from many of the former players, which is a big boost to his confidence.
