Former Indian captain and coach Anil Kumble believes gun fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah can go on to become India’s greatest fast bowler. Bumrah is making the right noise since he has made his International debut. The fast bowler has had a dream start to his Test career and he has breathed down the neck of the opposition batsmen.

Bumrah was the leading wicket-taker of the recently concluded two-match Test series against West Indies. The Indian pacer took 13 wickets in two matches which also included a stunning hat-trick. The fast bowler is right on the money with his line and length. Furthermore, Bumrah keeps getting better with every match, which is sensational.

Bumrah is on the right path.

Consequently, Bumrah is at number three in the current ICC Test rankings after playing only 12 Test matches. The 25-year old pacer will aim to continue the good show going.

Anil Kumble said while talking to CricketNext, “He certainly has the quality to go on and become the greatest ever fast bowler from India. I think that is something that he has and you can see those shades early in his career. He is only 25 so he has a long way ahead of him and you know it is wonderful to see the kinds of performances he has put together”.

“What really differentiates Bumrah and someone starting young is his ability to convert those two or three-wicket hauls into five-wicket hauls and then win matches for the country. I think that is a hallmark of a bowler, you would want your bowlers to be match-winners and that’s what Bumrah does and he has shown that in this young career of his”.

Meanwhile, Anil Kumble has observed Jasprit Bumrah from close corners as the head coach of the Indian team. Furthermore, Kumble was also with Mumbai Indians‘ when Bumrah made his IPL debut.

“I think he has all the credentials to become a great bowler and already he is the number one bowler in all three formats. I mean if you look at the consistency that he has shown. In all the three formats, India depends a lot on Bumrah”.

India has found a gem in Jasprit Bumrah and he has all the skills to go on to become India’s best pacer. He is already on the right path and hopefully, he will keep on shinning.

Bumrah will aim to continue his good show in the upcoming matches as well. India will next play South Africa in the home series.
