Jharkhand’s Ishank Jaggi Latest To Join IPL 2017 Players’ Auction List

After delivering crunch performances for East Zone in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Inter Zonal Twenty20 Trophy, the Jharkhand batsman Ishank Jaggi has hogged the limelight by making it into the star-studded list of cash-rich Indian Premier League Auction which will be held in Bengaluru on Monday (February 20).

Adding much to the delight for promising prospect, Ishank’s named has been listed on the official website of IPL with the base price of Rs 10 lakhs under the category of batsmen.

The 28-year-old right-handed batsman Ishank has smashed an unbeaten 37-ball 51 runs against Central Zone in Mumbai on February 13 followed by quick fire 90 off 51 balls against South Zone on February 15 and 56 off balls which included three boundaries and six sixes against West Zone on Saturday (February 18).

However, earlier the right-handed batsman Ishank was not part of the final players list for the IPL players’ auction which consisted of 351 players.

“That is why this knock was so important. It will help me move up to the next level. It was important on a personal level because I was disappointed last evening,” Ishank said after being snubbed in IPL auction earlier this week.

Ishank gave his best with the bat during the recently concluded Ranji Trophy campaign for Jharkhand, in which he had amassed 890 runs in 10 matches at an average of 59.3 which included four hundreds before his state side’s amazing run was halted by formidable Gujarat in the second semi-final at the Nagpur.

“It has been a good season for me as I feel I have hit the peak. I have played so much of domestic cricket that I know all about it and want to graduate to the next level,” Ishank was quoted by media persons earlier.

So far, Ishank has scored 204 runs in four games for the East Zone in the Inter Zonal Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament.

Ishank, who made his first-class debut in 2008, has featured in 67 matches in which he has scored 4,406 runs at an average of 44.95. He has smashed 15 centuries and 18 fifties.
