South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes – the best fielder in the cricket world has ever got. He didn’t miss a chance to send the cricketers back to the pavilion. He played 52 Test matches and 245 ODIs for South Africa. In Test matches, he scored 2532 runs at an average of 35.66. He also scored 5935 runs in ODIs at an average of 35.11.

Rhodes has reformed the third department of the cricket-fielding. He changed the view of fielding in the cricket world. The player was more in talks about his fielding than batting during his era and also till now.

Jonty Rhodes labels the best fielder

He was inquired about the fielding position of the Indian team. Rhodes then named Suresh Raina as one of the best fielders in the world. However, Raina is not playing in the national team at present.

Rhodes claimed, “Suresh Raina is my favourite fielder in the whole of India. In fact from the world perspective, he is one of the best fielders, he has been around for a while.”

Jonty Rhodes also said the currently Newzealand cricketer Martin Guptill is the best fielder and marks Ravindra Jadeja in the second position.

Virat Kholi or Steve Smith

Jonty Rhodes was also asked to choose between Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. He chooses Virat Kohli over the Australian cricketer. Rhodes opines that he likes to see Virat Kohli hitting centuries whereas Steve Smith hits the ugliest hundreds.

Rhodes as the surfing ambassador in India

Former South African cricketer is the ambassador of surfing in India. He said that people are developing an interest in this sport. Rhodes is confident that the numbers of surfers will increase in India.

He said, “When we first started, we had just 30 surfers. Now we are getting 30 surfers per age group. When we started, the youngest surfer was probably 16 or 17 years old and now they are 10. We have lady surfers too”
