England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has heaped praise on Quinton de Kock, stating he is a huge fan of South Africa’s gloveman. His remark came before the England squad left for South Africa to play the white-balls series, including three-match ODI and T20I series.
Buttler and de Kock are one of the best keepers in the contemporary world. Apart from excellent wicket-keeping skills, both are successful aggressive batsmen. While Buttler can bat at any given position, de Kock is capable of setting a good base for the team. Also, the two had an amazing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season.
The 30-year-old dynamic England wicket-keeper batsman said de Kock is a ‘fantastic player with an excellent cricket brain’. He likes the way Proteas approaches the game to take on bowlers. Buttler further labelled him as one of his favourite players in the world at the moment.
“I’m a huge fan of his. He is a fantastic player with an excellent cricket brain. I really enjoy how he views the game and looks to take it on.,” Buttler told reporters.
“He is one of my favourite players in the world at the moment, and is brilliant with the bat and as a wicketkeeper,” Buttler told reporters on Monday before the England squad left for Cape Town.
Jos Buttler believes the T20I series will be important for England
The World Cup 2019 winner Jos Buttler believes that the Twenty20 series, in particular, is important for England to find the proper winning combination and remove the flaws like they did for 50-over World Cup.
“To win the series is the ultimate aim, but also building towards the World Cups. In 50-over cricket we did that, winning and learning at the same time ahead of the (2019) tournament.
“Winning gives you confidence and clarity about your side. The 50-over team (that won the World Cup) nearly picked itself towards the end of that cycle.
“That gives you a lot of confidence, you are familiar with your own role and what to expect from your teammates,” Jos Buttler said.
Meanwhile, the series will be played from November 27 to December 9
