Kagiso Rabada Climbs Up the Ladder in Latest ICC Test Rankings for Bowlers

South Africa’s speedster Kagiso Rabada has jumped two places in the latest ICC Test Rankings for bowlers and is currently in the 3rd position which is the best he has achieved in his career. Rabada bowled brilliantly during the 2nd Test against Bangladesh at Bloemfontein which helped the Proteas complete a 2-0 series victory.
Rabada finished with a match haul of 10/63 including two five-wicket hauls in both innings which helped the hosts to win the 2nd Test by an innings and 254 runs. The rankings are updated till the 2nd Test between Sri Lanka and Pakistan which Sri Lanka went on to clinch quite comfortably and with that the series by a 2-0 margin.
Rabada who rose to the reckoning during the U-19 World Cup in 2014 which was won by his side has now gone past veteran spinners Rangana Herath and India’s Ravichandran Ashwin. He is just 8 points behind 2nd placed Ravindra Jadeja while he is still 20 points away from James Anderson of England who is currently the holder of the numero uno status.
Rabada was not the only South African bowler who made giant strides in the ICC Rankings as his partner Duanne Olivier also moved nine places to his career best position of 48. Wayne Parnell moved ten places to 60th while Andile Phehlukwayo gained 27 places to move up to 93rd position.
