Australian pacer Kane Richardson is ready to play under the captaincy of Virat Kohli for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the much-awaited Indian Premier League 2020 commencing from 19 September. He is eager to learn from RCB’s great players Virat, AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn.
Kane Richardson has played for RCB in the 2016 season. He was re-bought by the franchise in the IPL 2020 auction in December last year where RCB also bagged the service of another Aussie cricketer Aaron Finch.
The Australian pacer is looking forward to playing with legends of the game, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. He also wants to know what makes Kohli the great while closely playing under his leadership.
“Huge. These guys (Virat, AB de Villiers) are the absolute legends of the game. Anything I can learn from them will be a bonus, that’s for sure. I am really looking forward to playing with Virat, there are few more competitive players in the world. I am really looking forward to seeing what makes him tick,” Richardson told ANI.
Kane Richardson waiting to learn from Dale Steyn:
Richardson also said that he would want to learn from Dale Steyn as to how to be consistent in all formats of the game over a long period of time.
“There are loads I can learn from Dale. He has been amongst the best at the highest level for so long. His control and ability to swing the ball without losing his pace is really impressive. I look forward to getting in his ear about how he performs so consistently over a long period, in all forms,” said Richardson.
Meanwhile, Richardson has been practising with his teammates and preparing for the England tour to play three-match ODI and T20I series.
He last played for Australia in the first ODI against New Zealand in March before the remaining two ODIs were suspended because of the coronavirus.
