Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev showed his disinterest in Shoaib Akhtar’s advise. Former Pakistan speedster recommended hosting India and Pakistan behind the closed doors, to raise the money to fight the coronavirus which has taken the lives of over 89, 418 people.

Matches between India and Pakistan are most watches because of the rivalry between the two nations. However, both the teams face each other only during a mega-event like the World Cup. India and Pakistan have not toured each other countries for a long time because of tensed political issues.

Meanwhile, the spread of the coronavirus further halts the two teams to play the game. Akhtar advised that India and Pakistan games can be held behind close doors and will be a good source to raise funds. Kapil has strictly disagreed with Akhtar’s views. He even said that India doesn’t need money.

Kapil Dev’s reply to Shoaib Akhtar:

“He is entitled to his opinion but we don’t need to raise the money. We have enough. For us, what is important right now is how our authorities work together to deal with this crisis. I am still seeing a lot of blame games on television from the politicians and that needs to stop,” Dev told PTI.

“Anyway, the BCCI has donated a hefty amount  (Rs 51 crore) for the cause and is in a position to donate much more if the need arises. It doesn’t need to raise funds.”

“The situation is unlikely to get normal anytime soon and organising a cricket game means putting our cricketers at risk which we don’t need to,” said the former World Cup-winning former captain, Kapil Dev.

Further, he said that cricket could wait for six months. So, it is important to focus on the nation’s health and help the poor and needy.
