Karnataka batsmen hit double tons, set partnership record of 403

The domestic circuit of cricket in India has been strong for a long time now. The country continually produces stars in the sport and has given the sport some of the greatest players ever. The international journey of a young cricketer starts in the domestic games that are plenty in number to give everyone a chance to prove themselves.

The Karnataka State Cricket Association has seen a record partnership at the Chinnaswamy Stadium during a local match between two local cricket clubs. A division 1 league match saw the Vultures Cricket Club and the Social Cricketers face each other from the 6th of June.

Pavan Deshpande and Anirudha Joshi made themselves famous with a record breaking partnership on the second day of the match. Pavan, 25, stuck an unbeaten double century with 24 boundaries in around 250 balls. Joshi, who is a nephew of a former Indian national player Sunil, scored his double hundred at more than run a ball. With 8 sixes and 23 boundaries, he ended the day not out on 212. 

The duo put on 403 runs by the end of days play. An unbeaten partnership of 403 is the highest in 2 day leagues and both the batsmen getting a double century is also something that has never happened. The team ended up at 458/5 in their 90 overs after being 55/4 when these two came into the middle.

The Vulture with the mammoth score couldn’t secure a victory but took 3 points from the game after a lead in the first innings. Karun Nair was also a part of the game and batted for the Vultures. However, he dint have much joy as he was dismissed for 4.

KC Cariappa a costly buy in IPL 8 who plays for the Kolkata franchise was also a part of the feast. However, he was on the receiving side of the records and ended up with bowling figures of 1/130 in 30 overs
