Kevin Pietersen, the England discard , says that he still dreams of playing for England, despite being controversially kicked out of the team.

Kevin Pietersen lost his central contract by the England and Wales Cricket Board after he was made the scapegoat of the humiliating Ashes defeat , where England was whitewashed by the Aussies . Also , a share of this termination was because of Alistair Cook , who wanted only those players whom he could trust and Pietersen did not fit in this bill.

Pietersen , born in South Africa , but soon turned up to play for England after he stood up against the reservation system prevailing in South African Cricket for the blacks. He played 104 Tests for England and is arguably will go down as one of the English greats.

He is all set to play in the bicentenary celebrations match between MCC and Rest of the World side and will be the part of MCC side led by Sachin Tendulkar. Rest of the World side will be led by Shane Warne.

Pietersen tweeted as” My space reserved in the Lord’s dressing room. Clothes ready! So excited about tomorrow,” . which he tweeted yesterday , regarding this bicentenary match.

He said that he never thought that he will again get a chance to play near such a big crowd at Lord’s , but he hoped that he will again get a chance to represent England  again.

There were never a doubt over his talent but his relationship with the team mates and his off field activities just ensured that he no longer plays for England. There were many incidents which did become public , raising question mark over Pietersen as a team man.

Currently, he is playing T20 cricket for his county Surrey and is the captain of the Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.
