Kings XI Punjab made a comeback to Kings XI Punjab as the franchise bought him for Rs 10.75 Crore.
The Australian all-rounder has always been one of the biggest gainers in the league. Back in 2013, Mumbai Indians bought him for $ 1 Million. In 2014, KXIP spent Rs 6 Crore on him while in IPL 2018 auction, Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) shelled out Rs 9 Crore for the all-rounder. He just 169 runs and five wickets forcing in the season forcing the franchise to release him.
Maxwell, like many other Australian players, did not take part in IPL 2019 and has made a comeback by fetching a big bid for the next season. In 69 IPL matches, he has 1397 runs and 16 wickets.
Maxwell recently took a break from the game and has made a comeback to lead Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. Although he was recently dropped from ODI squad for the tour of India.
A T20 cricket veteran, Maxwell has scored 5589 runs and has scalped 85 wickets in 251 matches. Maxwell also has an experience of leading an IPL team – he was named Kings XI Punjab’s captain for IPL 2017.
