The two times Indian Premier League champions, Kolkata Knight Riders have confirmed their skipper for the next season of the tournament. Knight Riders head coach Brendon McCullum confirmed that Dinesh Karthik will continue to lead them in the forthcoming season of the tourney. When KKR roped in England white-ball captain Eoin Morgan for a hefty amount of INR 5.25 crores, it was anticipated that Morgan could be the new captain.
However, McCullum confirmed that there will be no changes in the leadership role. Dinesh Karthik was named as the new captain of the team in IPL 2018. The veteran batsman had also led his team to playoff stages. However, Karthik could not repeat the same magic in the previous season of the IPL 2019 as he failed to take his team to the last four.

Karthik would continue to lead KKR.
Dinesh Karthik has all the experience under his belt and he would like to lead from the front. Meanwhile, Kolkata Knight Riders made a huge bid of INR 15.50 crore for Australian paceman, Pat Cummins. Consequently, Cummins became the most expensive foreign player in IPL history.
Furthermore, Kolkata Knight Riders also roped in the services of Varun Chakoravathy for INR 4 Crores. Moreover, Manimaran Siddharth has been brought in by the franchise for his base price of INR 20 lakhs.

KKR has also got the services of Rahul Tripathi for INR 60 lakhs. On the other hand, Australia’s talisman all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who recently made a comeback from the break has thus far achieved the most expensive bid at 10.75 INR by Kings XI Punjab.
Maxwell had earlier also played for Kings XI Punjab and it would be a homecoming for him. Punjab was involved in a bidding war with Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Robin Uthappa who was earlier released by Kolkata Knight Riders was taken by Rajasthan Royals for INR 3 crores.
