Laxmi Ratan Shukla, the ace Bengal cricketer has brought allegation against Bengal’s present coach Sairaj Bahutule saying on Friday, “Bahutule was the man who raised doubt over my commitment towards the game and that was the key factor I have decided to quit from cricket.”

The all-rounder, explosive on the issue added more saying, “Who is Bahutule to raise question over my commitment? He has come to Bengal for one season. How much does he know about me?” immediately after having made these comments at the Mohun Bagan ground, dejected Laxmi Ratan pointed out his club coach former Bengal batsman, Palash Nandy and quipped, “Nandy was my first coach in the Ranji Trophy 22 years ago. And he has been nurturing me for last 20 years as a coach also in Mohun Bagan. He has never felt that I lack commitment.”

Extremely shocked at his exclusion from Bengal team in the Ranji Trophy, Laxmi Ratan said he never believed he would be axed on the fitness issue. He also informed saying, “I asked Bahutule how he has observed my lack of commitment in the recent matches in Ranji Trophy. But he could not reply me.”

Incidentally, Bengal skipper Manoj Tiwari, when asked about the issue, said Thursday, “I personally tried to convince Laxmi to change his decision from retirement. But it seemed he had already taken the final decision.”
