Talk about cricket in Chennai and you can’t get enough of their adopted son MS Dhoni. The former Indian skipper has been playing for the yellow outfit since the inaugural season of the IPL. The Chennai Super Kings have a loyal and passionate set of cricket fans just like most other franchises across the world.
While many have the desire to meet their idol Dhoni, only few have been lucky in achieving the same. During CSK’s game against Rajasthan Royals, one lucky fan got the opportunity to meet and greet his idol for a brief time.
Fan gets lucky
At the fall of Suresh Raina‘s wicket, Dhoni walked in to bat. One particular fan couldn’t keep calm and ran towards the batsman and touched Dhoni’s feet. Super Kings’ skipper had a quick word before the butterflies kept doing the rounds inside the belly of the passionate supporter.

Though Dhoni failed to fire with the bat, he was pretty happy with the way his team wrapped up the 64-run victory. Post the game, he stressed on the fact that not many in the side are that young and therefore fitness is a key for the veterans. “It’s like an unknown territory for us. We’re usually behind, but this time we’re ahead. Most of us are over 30, so it’s important to stay fit. Experience really counts, and we do have good fielders. Just need people to stay fit.” he said.
Dhoni hopeful of more support
He was also hopeful of seeing more fans in the coming games. “The change of venue, to be frank, the people over here, they supported me when I played for Pune, so you could say that it was good that I could return the favour. Yes, it’s Chennai Super Kings and not Pune Super Kings, but by the end of the seventh game, we’ll see more yellow here.” Dhoni added.
