Dwayne Smith said that Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni gives one enough chances to succeed. Dhoni has been leading the franchise team with example and gives players time to shine and show their talent to the world. It is important that you grab your chances when you get them. Smith said that Dhoni is a honest cricketer and one of best. Smith also said that Dhoni tells the team members not to get worried about everything and play freely.

Chennai Super Kings is the most consistent team in the Indian Premier League history winning the title 2 times. With Dhoni in the team, the dressing room atmosphere is so good. He also praised coach Stephen Fleming and team-mate Suresh Raina who make him feel pretty relaxed. Over the past few seasons Smith has closely watched Dhoni and learnt a lot things from Dhoni from his captaincy and try to imbibe that in his game. Being with Chennai Super Kings has helped the West Indies player a lot and made him a better player as a whole.

In the IPL 8 Smith scored 399 runs in 16 matches. Smith had a decent season with couple of fifties in the tournament. He is a hard hitting batsman who can change course of the match. With McCullum on the other side both were able to put pressure on the bowlers.

Smith said that he is very happy playing T-20 and One day International cricket. With Chennai Super Kings losing the finals of IPL 8 he said that the team played good cricket, but lost on crucial moments and hope to improve. He also said that he played some bad shots that resulted in inconsistency. Dhoni is one of the best captains in the World and Smith hopes to play with him in the next year’s IPL.
