India batting superstar Virat Kohli could not stop himself from taking a brutal dig at umpire Nitin Menon following a controversial decision from him during the ongoing fourth Test against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Menon has been in the news for all the wrong reasons during the ongoing four-match Test series. The Indian umpire has faced criticism from several quarters for his poor standard of umpiring in this series. During the third Test in Indore, Menon gave nearly half a dozen wrong decisions during India’s first innings.
In the second Test too, his decision to adjudge Virat Kohli lbw drew severe criticism for him. His poor performance even made several fans accuse him of being biased towards Virat Kohli.

Virat Kohli takes a dig at Nitin Menon:
It looks like the fans who had accused Nitin Menon of being biased towards Virat Kohli will have more reasons to take shots at the umpire after the India batsman’s recent comments for the umpire. The former India skipper was heard taking a brutal dig at Menon after the latter gave a decision in the favour of Australia batsman Travis Head.
The incident took place during 35th over of Australia’s second innings when Ravichandran Ashwin’s delivery rapped Head on his oad. The Indian players appealed for an lbw only to see Menon give his decision in the batsman’s favour. Rohit Sharma decided to review the decision and the replays showed that the impact was in line.
However, the third umpire eventually adjudged it umpire’s call as the ball was just clipping the edge of leg stump. And as soon as the third umpire confirmed his decision, Virat Kohli was heard telling Menon: “Mai hota to out de deta (If it was me, you would have given out).”
