Mayank Dagar Sets New Record in Yo-Yo Test, Surpasses Virat Kohli’s Figures

Indian domestic cricketer, Mayank Dagar has surpassed Manish Pandey and Virat Kohli in Yo-Yo test score. The young cricketer has reportedly managed to score a whopping 19.3, which is higher than any other Indian cricketer at the moment.
Virat Kohli had managed 19.2 in Yo-Yo test, and Dagar has managed to do one better. The Indian skipper is known as one of the fittest cricketers in the world. It is evident in the way he runs between the wickets and in his fielding.
Mayank Dagar must have given a lot of effort to ensure he passed the score of Virat Kohli.
On the other hand, the young cricketer is still finding his groove in the Indian domestic circuit. He managed to play for Kings XI Punjab in the recently concluded IPL.
Although he did not receive any chance in taking the field for Punjab under Ashwin’s leadership, the youngster got the taste of the cash-rich league. In case if you do not know who Mayank Dagar is, then here is a short description.
The 21-year old hails from Himachal Pradesh and is primarily a left-arm spinner. Earlier, BCCI had set a passing score of 16.1 for all the cricketers to be eligible for Indian team selection.
Since Mayank Dagar is super fit, now it is up to him to replicate the performances on the ground to earn a call into the national team.
Yo-Yo Test Continues its Presence
The fitness test is becoming very important in Indian cricket at the moment. Considering the importance of fitness, the board along with selectors have made it mandatory to pass the test.
Initially, Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina failed the test last season and got dropped from the Indian team.
After the conclusion of IPL this year, Ambati Rayudu and Mohammed Shami failed to clear the test. The duo was initially part of the Indian squad for England tour but eventually got overlooked for failing to pass Yo-Yo test.
On the other hand, another rising talent, Sanju Samson was also dropped from India ‘A’ squad after not cross 16.1 in the test.
