Mid-season transfer window set to be the latest introduction to the Indian Premier League

The most celebrated T20 league in the history of cricket, The Indian Premier League has undergone some modifications since it’s inception in the year of 2008. From new teams to new rules to new jerseys, it’s not the same league that started in 2008. It’s definitely, bigger, better and thriller.
However, taking inspiration from one of the greatest football leagues in the world, The English Premier League, the Indian Premier League might see a new feature introduced in the 2018 edition – a mid-tournament transfer window!
This will allow the franchises to snatch players from their opponents in the middle of the season, just as we see in the football leagues. If a report is to be believed, if a player does not make it to the eleven of a certain team in the first seven matches he will be put up to the transfer list and will be up for grabs.
The BCCI office-bearers, IPL Governing Council members, the Committee of Administrators (COA) and the eight franchises had met on Tuesday and reportedly agreed with the idea.
“There have been instances where a player gets only a few games, and that too towards the business end of the tournament, or warms the bench throughout the season. A team buys a certain player in the auction but later finds it difficult to accommodate him in the playing XI due to their combination or team balance. This proposal is a win-win situation for players and teams. The idea was discussed in the meeting and all owners/team representatives seemed convinced about it. The modalities will be worked out as soon as the IPL body accepts the proposal,” mid-day quoted a BCCI source.
The thing that needs to be decided is a transfer window for the players or will it be a midseason auction?
