Mohammad Nabi Reacts After Becoming First Afghanistan Player To Be Picked At IPL Auction

Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has expressed his happiness after becoming the first player from his country to get a deal from an Indian Premier League outfit. The 31-year was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad for a base price of Rs. 30 lakh in the IPL Auction.
The off-spinner, whose family had moved to Pakistan’s Peshawar from Afghanistan during the the Soviet War, has come a long way after making his ODI debut in 2009. The Afghanistan star, who has played 72 one-day internationals and 52 T20Is so far, grabbed the limelight last year when he finished the World T20 championship in India as its highest wicket-taker with 12 scalps.
Excited with the news, he took to Twitter to express his happiness. He also congratulated his compatriot Rashid Khan who was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 4 crores.

A brilliant performer in the shortest format of the game, Nabi has so far taken 56 wickets at a brilliant economy of 6.96. He is also ranked in the ICC’s all-rounders list for T20 Internationals.
On the other hand, Rashid Khan, who was the second highest-taker in last year’s World T20, has taken 31 wickets in 21 T20Is at an astonishing economy of 6.14.
