The Indian team has improved considerably as a unit for the past few years. Also, Indian team has mastered in building up steady partnerships quite often in ODIs.

Here is the list of most runs by a pair for India in ODIs since 2010.

1. Virat Kohli – Rohit Sharma, 2008 runs –

Rohit Sharma has been India’s opening batsmen for quite a long time now and Virat Kohli has been quite much successful batting at number three. Together, this pair has been pretty much successful in building up brilliant partnerships after India loses their first wicket and has, on a number of occasions brought the team to some sort of settled situation.

2. Virat Kohli – Suresh Raina, 1936 runs –

4. Shikhar Dhawan – Rohit Sharma, 1631 runs –

The opening duo of India has contributed well on a number of occasions. They performed consistently in the ICC Champions Trophy in the year 2013. They have formed India’s reliable opening pair after confusion arose for the respective spot.

5. Gautam Gambhir – Virat Kohli, 1597 runs – 

For yet another time, Virat Kohli’s name is involved in a partnership. This time it’s with Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir used to open the innings for India and Kohli came in to bat at number 3 or 4. Together, they contributed to some brilliant partnerships. In the World Cup Final of 2011, they contributed to the partnership of over 70 runs which was pretty much vital for the team.
