MS Dhoni Gets Emotional While Talking About CSK’s Return

There are very few cricketers who manage to hide their emotions as good as MS Dhoni on the cricket field. No matter what the situation is, the former India skipper rarely shows emotions. Whether his team win the World Cup, IPL or ends up losing a big game, Dhoni just knows how to keep his composure on the field.

No surprises then that over the years we have rarely seen Dhoni getting emotional. Well, Dhoni recently showed the emotional side of his personality.  The second episode of Hotstar Docudrama ‘Roar of the Lion’ shows the legendary cricketer getting emotional as he talked about Chennai Super Kings’ 2-year ban.

Dhoni was addressing the players before the start of the last season when they made a comeback after serving the ban. But perhaps for the first time, the world saw Dhoni failing to keep his composure as he nearly choked while addressing the team. In fact, Dhoni was struggling so much that his teammate Suresh Raina walked up to him to offer him a bottle of water.

“Kabhi na kabhi to banda toot ta hi hai…” said Suresh Raina.

Dwayne Bravo also expressed his surprise over seeing Dhoni emotional, saying:

“We had never seen MSD like that before, this emotional.”

Dhoni, nonetheless, led Chennai Super Kings to a fairytale title last year in the team’s comeback season. Despite being written off, the Super Kings overcame all the odds to win the title and became just the second team to win IPL thrice.

The Super Kings will be looking to go all the way this season too after retaining most of the players from last season. They will start their title-defence against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 23 at Chepauk. A win in the upcoming season will make them the first side to win the IPL title four times.
