The two best friends Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers went live on Instagram to interact with fans. Both the players shared a good bond which was seen during their candid chat on the live sessions. The duo touched every topic from coronavirus pandemic to the future of the cricket. They also picked a combined ODI playing XI from South Africa and India.

During the live session, a fan requested them to pick up the best XI. AB de Villiers accepted the request and the duo decided to choose the player from their own country and their own era. The ODI playing XI comprised of seven Indian players and four South African players.

Former South African captain selected Sachin Tendulkar while Virat selected Rohit Sharma for the opening stand. For batting at No.3, de Villiers picked up the Indian captain and following which, Virat selected AB for the fourth position.

Former South African great allrounder Jacques Kallis also got the place in the Playing XI at no. 5. He is the only pure allrounder in the team. After Kallis, Virat picked Yuvraj Singh at No.6 position. The sixer king retired from the game last year after he was not selected in the World Cup squad.

For the finisher and wicketkeeper position, Virat and AB both agreed to pick up MS Dhoni and they also chose him as the captain. During the discussion, AB said that he would like to play under Dhoni’s captaincy.

They both have a hard time selecting the team because they didn’t want to leave any of their players. In the bowling department, they went with Yuzvendra Chahal as the only out and out spinner. In pacers, they picked up South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and Dale Steyn while Jasprit Bumrah as they only Indian fast bowler.

The two RCB players picked former Indian head coach Gary Kirsten as the coach of the India-South Africa ODI XI.
