Pakistan’s out of favor wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal has heaped praise on former Indian captain MS Dhoni. Akmal stated that very few players have come to cricket like MS Dhoni. The Indian wicket-keeper batsman has been a massive servant of Indian cricket and did a great job for the team. Dhoni last played for the national team back in 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, which India lost.
In fact, Dhoni had announced himself at the big stage with a whirlwind knock of 148 runs against arch-rivals Pakistan and Kamran Akmal was also part of that match. Furthermore, Akmal had played against Dhoni when India A and Pakistan A had played against each other in Kenya.

MS Dhoni has been a champion
Dhoni has an average of 50.57 and it is unbelievable as he has played at number six for the major part of his career. The right-hander has remained unbeaten on 84 occasions in the ODI format, which goes to show his consistency.
Kamran Akmal said while talking to Cric Cast, “I feel he is the best ever wicketkeeper-batsman in the Indian team who has achieved so much for India, unbelievable. The way he has performed consistently, to keep an average above 50 in ODIs and play such match-winning innings.”
“We remember the way he took the ODI series away from us in Pakistan. The way he started against Pakistan A in Kenya, he carried on like that till the end.”
On the other hand, Dhoni led India to glory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup, 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni was able to lead from the front and got the best out of the players. Akmal added only a few players have come to cricket like MS Dhoni.

“However much credit you can give to MS Dhoni – 50-over World Cup, T20 World Cup, IPL, Champions Trophy – I feel all achievements are there in his captaincy.”
“He is an unbelievable performer, I will say very few players come to cricket like MS Dhoni.”
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has been at his best and served Indian cricket for 15 years. There are a lot of question marks on Dhoni’s future and it is expected that he may never play for India. However, Dhoni is going to keep playing in the IPL where he would be leading Chennai Super Kings.
