MS Dhoni Is A Living Legend In The Dressing Room: Ravi Shastri

Indian coach Ravi Shastri is full of praises for wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni and has reckoned the 36-year old is far from finished.
There has been speculations around the future of Dhoni going into the series against Sri Lanka but Dhoni has put all the critics at bay as he made his bat talk. He made key contributions to India in the last three ODIs as he remained unbeaten to see through the innings.
Many people wrote off Dhoni being part of 2019 World Cup squad but Ravi Shastri has revealed that the Ranchi dynamite has lot more to offer and called him a living legend in Indian team.
“MS Dhoni is a massive influence on the team. He is a living legend in the dressing room and an ornament to the game. By no means or by any stretch of imagination he is finished or even half finished yet,” Shastri said.
“If anyone thinks so, they are mistaken and they have another one coming. They are in for some surprises. The old dog has plenty to offer,” he said.
Shastri has also insisted that Dhoni is the best keeper in India and believes he is still one of the best keepers in the world in the limited overs’ formats.
“How do you pick players? When they are good, and Dhoni is the best limited-overs’ keeper in the country. Forget his batting stats, what else do you want. Just because he has played for so many years, you are thinking about a replacement?
“He is the best in the country. Would you look to replace Sunil Gavaskar when he was 36 years old or Sachin Tendulkar when he was 36? Dhoni is still the best in the business, so what is the need to even entertain those thoughts,” he asked.
Dhoni has been in enthralling form ever this year as he is one of the leading ODI run scorers in the world. He is looking in fine touch and has achieved his 300th ODI cap against Sri Lanka at Colombo on Thursday. The hard hitting batsman is keen to keep up his current form as he has been working hard on his technique in the recent months to stay fit for the mega event in England.
