Despite the Test series drubbing on Kiwis shores, Team India has surely a happy piece of news after Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan have recovered from their respective injuries. India’s outgoing chief selector MSK Prasad was the attendee in the ongoing DY Patil T20 tournament 2020, to have a keen look at the performance of the trio. Prasad seemed contented with their performances.

The pacer Bhuvneshwar was in and out of the team in the past home series while the all-rounder Pandya has last played a game in September, last year.

On the other hand, India’s opener Dhawan had an injury-prone home season. This year in January, he played the ODI series against Australia during which he suffered from a shoulder injury.

The trio underwent the rehabilitation period in the Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy (NCA).

MSK Prasad happy with the progressive Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shikhar Dhawan:

They are fit again and have participated in the DY Patil T20 Cup. The trio is raring to make a return in the international fold.

“I am here to watch Shikhar Dhawan playing in the DY Patil tournament. I am here especially to watch Dhawan, Bhuvi, and Hardik. I am happy with the way they are progressing,” Prasad told ANI.

Who will select the squad for South Africa?

Besides, Prasad is serving the last period of his term as a selector. He will be leaving the post after the selection of new members.

BCCI’s president Sourav Ganguly had said that the new selection committee will be picking the squad for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. Although there is no news about the new development, as of now.

When asked whether his selection team would be picking the squad or the upcoming ODI series against South Africa, Prasad said:

“I have no idea about that, we will have to wait for the instructions from the secretary and BCCI president. I am not in a position to answer this”.

Prasad had also commented on Virat Kohli’s current poor performance against New Zealand on the tour. According to the former Indian cricketer, the legends like Kohli are not judged by some poor innings.

Meanwhile, after completing the tour against New Zealand, India will play the three-match ODI series which will begin from 12th March.
