Mumbai Indians select Japiur as their home ground

The Defending champions have selected Jaipur as their home ground after the high court asked them not hold matches in Maharashtra after 30th April due water shortage. “We had given Mumbai Indians three options — Jaipur, Kanpur, and Raipur. The Mumbai Indians told us that they would like to play their home matches at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. Accordingly, the IPL and IMG officials will be going to Rajasthan tomorrow in order to to speak to the state government,” IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla told media persons, on Sunday.
“There were some issue regarding the intensity of the floodlights and that has been sorted out. Within a couple of days, the concerned people will be coming for an inspection. I am confident that the matches will be held in Kanpur as per schedule,” Shukla said. In the Ranji Trophy ,Rajasthan is the home at Sawai Man Singh Stadium.
Pune Super Giants have selected Vizag as their home ground . The Sawai Man Singh Stadium has held Ranji Trophy matches. It is one of the good grounds in the country. Mumbai Indians have played 3 matches losing 2 matches and winning 1 match only so far. Mumbai Indians will be looking to make Jaipur their fortress going. Mumbai Indians are the defending champions. Jaipur has hosted matches in the previous eight seasons of IPL. They were home ground for Rajasthan Royals who was banned from IPL.
Kanpur is also expected to host matches on 19th and 21st May as scheduled said, Rajiv Shukla. Mumbai Indians have been champions of IPL two times.
