Murali Vijay beats Sachin, Dravid, Laxman in terms of best test average against Australia

India’s new batting sensation, Murali Vijay has got past the legendry Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman in terms of having the best test batting average against Australia. With his meticulous 144 run innings played during the second test at Gabba in Brisbane, he has become new high scoring device for team India.

It is very interesting to know that out of the total 5 test centuries scored by Murali Vijay so far, 4 have come while playing against Australia. His rapid fire scoring is evident from the fact that his total of 976 runs scored against Australia in 14 tests, which consists of 4 centuries and 3 half centuries. Now let us have a quick look at the wonderful average being held by Murali Vijay – 69.71. Against this, Sachin carries just an average of 55, VVS Laxman 49 and Rahul Dravid merely 39.

Although as on date, veteran Ravi Shastri holds the highest average record of 77.75 against Australia, but keeping in view the fact that Murali Vijay is likely to play for quite a long time and also given his recent splendid form, it is apprehended that Murali Vijay is going to stay at the top for a long long time.
