On Sunday (26th January), Rahul scored a match-winning half-century as Team India consecutively won the second T20I against New Zealand. In his unbeaten innings at Eden Park, he struck three fours and two maximums. The right-hand batsman stitched up an 86-run partnership with youngster Shreyas Iyer (44) to chase down the 133-run target set up by the host.
Rahul’s form in T20I cricket has been a key part of India’s successful run in T20I cricket in the recent past. The India batsman has scored four fifties in the last five innings with scores of 91, 45, 54, 56, 57 not out.

Former Indian batsman Laxman took to Twitter–to applaud the remarkable performance of the Karnataka player. He appreciated the versatility of Rahul, who has developed the art to give his best at every given position.
“Over 300 runs for KL Rahul in his last 5 T20 innings. Very impressed with the versatility that he has shown and adapted to different positions and roles. Great support from Shreyas Iyer. But this win was set up by the bowlers who did not let NZ batsman to get away,” Laxman tweeted.

India vs New Zealand 2020: India has a lead of 2-0 –
Virat Kohli has dominated as a skipper in Auckland. In the first T20I, the Men in Blue won the game by six wickets. Similarly, asked to field to first, Indian bowlers created the pressure from the start of the game.

While Tim Southee picked two crucial wickets of Kohli and Rohit Sharma but it didn’t affect the Indian batters to reach the below-par target. After getting the lead of 2-0, India will head with confidence in the third game scheduled at Seddon Park in Hamilton on Wednesday.
