Nic Maddinson replaces duty bound Martin Guptill

The Australian batsman Nic Maddinson has been added to the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad as a replacement for the batsman Martin Guptill who has been forced to leave the tournament midway as he has to join the national team for their tour to Zimbabwe.
Maddinson who has played two T20Is for Australia till now made his international debut against India in the year 2013 where he came to prominence after scoring 34 runs in just 16 balls he played but he had to wait for more than one year for another opportunity. Finally, after a period of 13 months, he got the second opportunity in his home country in a contest against South Africa but there he could just score 4 runs. From then he is knocking the doors of the national team but due to the presence of the talented bunch of players already present in the squad, he is not able to not been able to get a recall. This is a good opportunity for him as a good show in this league can again open the doors for him.
Guptill who played his last game of these years CPL could not score even a single run in his farewell match. Guptill played a total number of 7 games in this season and scored 164 runs which included one-half century against T&T Riders. He has to leave the tournament mid-way due to international commitments.
The New Zealand team is scheduled to play a practise match against Zimbabwe A on July 22 before taking on the Zimbabwe team in two Test matches. After this, the team will travel to South Africa to play two Test matches against the home country and following the tour they will land in India to play a complete series against Indian team. Guptill will be a key man for New Zealand team in all the series that are coming his way.
