Former India batsman Krishnamachari Srikkanth has revealed the name of the India fast-bowler who could become the number one T20I bowler in the world. At present, Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are undoubtedly the best India pacers in the shortest format of the game. As of now, only Bhuvneshwar is present in the top ten of the ICC Rankings for bowlers.
Bumrah, on the other hand, is at the 33rd spot but only because he has hardly played T20Is in recent times. In 2017, Bumrah had reached the pinnacle of ICC Rankings. And while only time will tell whether Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar or any other Indian bowler manages to become number 1 in T20Is, Krishnamachari Srikkanth believes Arshdeep Singh will definitely do it.
India have tried out several fast-bowlers in recent months as they prepare for this year’s T20 World Cup. And it would not be wrong to say that Arshdeep has been the most impressive newcomer. The left-arm fast-bowler earned his maiden call-up after impressing in this year’s IPL and has totally justified his selection so far. He made his debut against England last month and impressed straightaway.
On his debut, he picked up 2 wickets while giving away just 18 runs in addition to bowling a maiden in the powerplay. The youngster has impressed one and all with his bowling in the death overs as well as his ability to nail yorkers at will. His impressive displays in international cricket have continued in the ongoing series against West Indies too.
