Pakistan clashed with Bangladesh in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 match which is being played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on October 31, 2023. Pakistan and Bangladesh are both in the same boat when it comes to chances for semi-final qualification.

Pakistan has 4 points from two wins from 6 matches, while Bangladesh has managed only one win in 6 matches. Both are virtually out of the race for the knockouts of the ICC World Cup 2023.

Bangladesh batted first after captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss. Bangladesh made one change as Mahedi Hasan made way for Towhid Hridoy in the XI. Pakistan on the other hand, made three changes. Imam Ul Haq, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Nawaz were dropped.

In their places, Fakhar Zaman, Agha Salman, and Usama Mir were picked.

Shadab Khan was not picked in the Pakistan XI due to concussion issues that occurred during the match against South Africa when he hit his head on the ground while fielding. He had to be subbed out with Usama Mir coming in as a concussion substitute.

PCB Provides Update On Shadab Khan’s Concussion

Now Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) provided an update on the concussion issue of Shadab Kha, the Pakistan vice-captain. Shadab Khan suffered a concussion in Pakistan’s match vs South Africa. After a thorough assessment, the medical panel had no choice but to rule him out of the match against Bangladesh.

“This was Shadab’s third concussion since September last year. He had a collision with his Sussex teammate while fielding in the Vitality T20 Blast in May this year and previously during Asia Cup final last year in Dubai, when his head crashed into Asif Ali’s elbow while fielding. Every precaution is being taken, keeping in mind his health and wellbeing. He will continue to be assessed over the coming days,” PCB said in a statement.
