Basit Ali criticises Pakistan despite their win over Zimbabwe in CWC’15

Former Pakistan batsman Basit Ali has stated that though Pakistan secured a victory against Zimbabwe, it was not a high performance from the team. Pakistan continue with their desires in CWC’15 to make it to the quarter-finals, having defeated Zimbabwe by 20 runs in their Pool B game played in Brisbane. 

The Express Tribune reported that their victory did not come uncomplicated as Pakistan won by the skin of their teeth, which has given them expectation of qualifying for the knockout stages. Basit Ali stated that it was a really poor batting performance from their cricketers because they got out against some ordinary bowling. He persisted that good squads look for such games to get performances going and for recollecting confidence and also added that their batsmen wasted it. 

The former batsman felt that the squad should have never allowed Zimbabwe to get that close. He said that it was really disheartening to see Pakistan fight so hard against a team like Zimbabwe. Basit Ali claimed that their skill is much higher and they should play to their level.
