The ODI series between Pakistan and Australia concluded a week ago. After a tormenting defeat in the ODI series, Pakistan would definitely try to extract the positives from the test series. The first test between Pakistan and Australia will start from tomorrow at Dubai. It will be a 2-match test series and will surely be a one to watch for.
Pakistan team had some problems in their team selection process and their squad for the first test was announced late. Also, there were plenty of speculations about the captaincy of the Pakistani team. But finally it was announced that Misbah will remain as their captain in all the formats of the game. The experienced pro in the name of Younis Khan is back in the team for the test match. Pakistan batting has to come up strong in the first test. They do possess good talented batsmen in the likes of Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Talha, Asad Shafique up the order. Also, Taufeeq Umar has been included in the test squad. The left handed batsman will surely have a point to prove himself. The batting department of Pakistan had not just clicked in the recent times and surely the test series will be considered as an opportunity to get back to scoring ways. They possess a good bowling attack. The absence of Saeed Ajmal will be felt badly though. Zulfiqar Babar will take care of spin bowling for them. Also plenty of youngsters in the likes of Harish Sohail and Ehsan Adil have been included in the team for fast bowling.
The Australian team looked perfectly balanced the ODI series. Surely, they would like to carry on with their winning run. Steve Smith has been in flying form for them in the ODI series. Surely, he will carry on with it in the test series too. Also, it will be seen whether Michael Clarke, the Australian captain manages to find his form back in the series. The opening pair in the likes of David Warner and Phil Hughes will have to decent job up in the middle. Also, their sensational all-rounder, Shane Watson was brought back in the squad. He was out of the squad due to an injury. He has recovered from it but he is not fit enough though for international cricket. Thus his name has been withdrawn. The Australian also possess a deadly bowling attack in the likes of Mitchell Johnson, leading the pace attack right from the front. Also there are other bowlers in the likes of Ben Hilfenhaus, James Faulkner, Peter Siddle and the left arm fast bowler, Mitchell Starc. Also, Nathan Lyon, Steve Smith will handle the spin bowling.
Australian does possess a much stronger team and are expected to win the first test match. Pakistan will definitely have to fight hard.
